How we met

“Gerry and I met almost 10 years ago, and what was originally just a few dates later became a few years of growing up together. He shared my curiosity for life, and my eagerness for growth. We enjoyed a lot of weekends being outdoors, or cafe hopping, or reading under the afternoon sun, or just listening to jazz at home. He has a way of transforming original mundane things into little moments of happiness when we're together.”

The proposal

8 years later, last March 2023 — Gerry surprised me with an intimate proposal on a row boat under some blossoming sakura trees in Tokyo. Japan was somewhere we visited a lot as a couple so it was extra special that he proposed there. After the engagement, we asked ourselves how we wanted to remember our wedding 50-years down the road, and we both agreed that we want it to be an intimate celebration with people who are closest to us.

When Gerry proposed

Notre amour de Paris*

2 months later — we went on a short trip to Paris with our close friends Edith and Steven for their bachelorette. We were surprised how quickly we fell in love with the city. Paris was alluring not in its touristy-heavy spots, but in the vibe the city exhibits, the air that breaths romance, and the beauty that it beholds. We came back shortly after in that exact same summer, and decided that this is where we want to tie the knot.

The rest is history

So here we are, looking to host an intimate celebration in Paris, and hoping to later relive the day as a precious shared memory with our closest family & friends.

As Gerry & I count on our blessings, we continue to be immensely thankful to all of you for all the undeserving love and support that we are showered with. We are grateful for your support and presence in our lives, and the opportunity to grow together.

It would be our greatest joy and happiness to have you at our wedding, to share one of the most important days of our lives, and to celebrate the people who support and built us up.

Understand that you would have to travel (very) long distances to celebrate with us, so we thank you in advance for all your love!!

Looking forward to sharing the weekend with you in Paris in September!

Love,

Ching & Gerry
